Mohammad Zubair Shafiqi

The story behind Afghan Kabob Palace is rooted in family, resilience, hospitality, and the Afghan food traditions shared at every table.

Mohammad Zubair Shafiqi was born in Afghanistan, where he helped his family run a grocery store. In 2005, his family opened a restaurant, and in 2009 he started a coffee shop and kitchen inside FOB Bostick.

From 2010 to June 10, 2014, he helped U.S. forces in Afghanistan in different capacities. On June 25, 2014, he moved to the United States for safety and a better future.

Starting from zero, he worked in warehouses, volunteered, and continued dreaming of owning a restaurant again. During the pandemic, supplying rice to Afghan Kabob opened the door to a new opportunity. With dedication, he became a partner and then the sole owner.
